Well it's been a busy weekend and it's only Sunday! Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there!  Having my daughters birthday one week before MD kind of makes me nostalgic.   My first Mother's day was spent alone, because Lily was in the hospital for two weeks after she was born ( five weeks  early) Now she's all grown up, and spent her weekend at Wellstone camp down in Minneapolis.  She learned how to campaign for a candidate. She is so excited to be able to vote this year.

We had guests helping with the firing yesterday, Chuck Deckas and John Chianelli came up to check out the firing and help stoke for the afternoon. John brought some of his work up, one of which is pictured above.   They have a wood fired kiln in Prior Lake.   I wish the picture showed how skillfully thrown the vessels are, they are light as a feather.

Well after the guys left, I helped stoke for a few hours.  It had started raining in the afternoon, so we dried out the wood against the kiln before stoking.   At about ten Paul sent me and the dog up to the house saying he was almost done.  I woke up at 2:30 am and saw the lights on down at the shop, so I went to see what was up.  Nothing critical, except the chainsaw had broken earlier,  but the kiln had reached cone 10, anyway.   Now the waiting to see the results! Tomorrow we should get a peek.  Later in the week Paul will be headed down to Maiden Rock WI to participate in the  Fresh Art Tour as a guest of Peter Deneen.   That is our show for the month of  May, except for open studio week ends that we will have here.

I will be cleaning some of the older pots out of myEtsy Shop, and adding some of the new work later this week. Now I've got to get to work!
