Well I covered the tomatoes last night, frost was predicted. With the late spring , I thoght we'd get an extended summer too, but no. The last of the daylilies were still blooming yesterday. Usually we get a reprieve after the first frost. There are no red tomatoes yet, but there is a package of bacon, for BLTs as soon as they are ready!!
As the days shorten, I get out my bright light, and start my winter morning routine. I spend 125 to 30 minutes in front of my light each day, and it helps me deal with seasonal affective disorder or SAD. It is very common in the northern climates, and among women of northern european decent, but men can have it too. It's been twelve years since I got mine and it changed my life. I call it my electric prosac, and I t works for me without my having to actually use anti depressants. There is a lot of information on the web about SAD, so if you start feeling sluggish , more hungry, despondent, and get what is sometimes called the "winter blues" there is help out there for you. You don't have to suffer all winter.
