The fall colors have started here! I just love the variety that the sumac shows when it changes. I took some last pictures of my flowers. It's hard to say goodbye to my annuals that are looking so good right now! I will save the seeds from my morning glories, and I have to harvest my carrots and potatoes yet. I still have celery and leeks too. Lily brought me some chicks from her State Fair trip. She was an interpreter for the miracle of birth center sponsored by FFA. She had a great experience being the chicken duck and turkey lady. She brought me four turkeys, four ducks, and 18 chickens. Yes this isn't the best time to raise chicks, but, they will be fully feathered by October, and the turkeys will be ready by November. I sent the turkeys to my friends house and they got a broody hen for a foster mother. The ducks were too messy for me and they went to a friends farm. I am thrilled to have a white Guinea fowl.
Any way I have been working a lot at the cafe since everyone else needs time off. And this week is no exception. ALSO our Sticks and Sones Art event takes place next weekend. I have all the info at my website at www.paulmorrispottery.com/sticksandstones.html
A busy and colorful fall! Later, Denise
