Well we're warm and cozy here and it's 15 below. I have no doubt it got to -20 over night. This is really bone chilling cold, and you don't want to be out in it very long. Having frozen my hands as a child, my fingers get cold really fast. I did notice the wind had shifted to south southwest, so it won't last much longer. In the meantime I am warm and cozy and enjoying my Sunday coffee and the afterglow of our gig last night. We had a lot of fun. I wish I could say I sounded great, but I felt rusty all night. Then I heard a snippet on one of lil's videos, and I was out of tune. I bought strings at the last minute and they were not staying in tune. I'll never do that again.
We have been picked up by another gallery. Our old friend Judith from Gallery in the Vault in Wooster Ohio called , and wants some of our new work! I am thrilled about that , because I have so many contacts from Ohio that I've met here online. We will be sending regular shipments to her, as well as Margot's Gallery in Oxford Michigan. This also made me start thinking of a possible road trip, involving the galleries we are supplying. It would consist of stops at each location and small opening ,maybe, of the new works. It would give us a chance to make old connections we used to have on the art fair circuit, and meet some of the people that I have met online. Paul and I have retired from art fair travel. We have spent five years retooling and are at a steady level of production. We have found shipping to be safe and a better value than transporting it ourselves. I personally miss the contacts that we had in the art fair days, and would like to make it an opportunity to connect with some of those folks too. You know who you are!!! email me!
Okay another reason I am excited is because I restarted my etsy account and it took off. You can click the link to get there, I didn't figure out how to send you directly to my shop, but, that way you can look around at all the cool stuff totally handmade by real people. I love the way the search works, and if you want to be a seller, it seems like they have designed it with the artist in mind. My shop is MorrisPottery. I don't know what happened, but things were selling before I finished my listings on friday. I Also have been contacted about a commission. I am listing more things today. Striking while hot, because previously I hadn't had one hit, and figured I was going to have to re educate myself on promoting ect. Now I am too busy packing and relisting to worry about that. I call that my January miracle! Now I have to work hard to give the best customer srvice out there and keep offering quality work. Actually I need to rephrase that , because good customer service is not the hard part. I have had nothing but positive experience here and have enjoyed the people I've met.
Well I have to go do animal duties, Later, Denise
