We are blessed with a spring snow! It isn't so cold outside, and it will soon melt! The seasons are turning and winter has lost it's cold grip on us. No doubt we will see another one or two of these before the real thaw sets in.
Perfect weather for kiln firing, and the wood comes tomorrow, soon the fire box will be glowing, and we will have a big batch of great stuff to share. Ther pressure is on , and Paul is working on several very large floor vases for another firing right after this one. There is quite a demand for the pottery, so I am heartened that we may be able to survive the recession, or whatever it is. We will survive for the simple fact that we , like most people in our little county, have learned to live on less for a long time. Because of that it won't take much for us to stay on our feet. The big thing is surviving the winter, and it's looking like we did that!! I have done tons of horse items for the Show at Blue Iris Gallery in Duluth MN In Arpril! Coming up fast! An artist tour in the Lake pepin area is coming up in June, and We will be in Stevens Point WI March 30 Sunday for the Festival of the Arts. If you are in the neighborhood, stop by at one of these shows!
We had a very successful Artist Studio Field Trip earlier in the month, and more are being planned. If you are local, and interested in an artist field trip, contact us to get on the list. More on my NEWS page.
I got the nicest email from a fellow potter today, who had some of our old work in his collection. I think it is so great that I can visit his site, and email back, it's the closest thing to actually being at an Art Fair. I do miss the people we got to know out there on the road, and the good feelings I would get and all the inspiration from being around other people that were doing what they loved. I have met a lot of people here, and reconnected with former customers, and I have decided to keep the website, and limp along on my blog. I haven't promoted it, because I just don't feel I am interesting enough to use it to promote my work. But with etsy, and our galleries, upcoming shows, I am just trying to figure out how the website best fits in to all of this.
I also have to get away from the computer a little bit, as it is taking up a lot of my time that I could be making things. The computer is slowing down, and that makes it so hard to post, and update the site. DSL doesn't look to be getting here for quite awhile, so I am stuck on dial up..Well I gotta go pay bills....
