One of the popular stops when people visit our studio, is the kiln shed.
Stored there, are the pots that never make it to the art shows or online
venues. When I send out pottery it has passed very strict guidelines for
quality and functionality. Because of the unpredictable nature of our firing
methods, only about one third of the work reaches the galleries, art shows,
and my Etsy shop. Another third is re-fired, or thrown away. The rest is
available to visitors at reduced prices.
So here is my virtual version of the Kiln Shed. Here I will offer the pieces
that are experimental(different from the regular line) or may have
received flaws during the process that don't hinder the functionality, or in
most cases the beauty of the piece.
To connoisseurs of the wood fired process, a lot of the perceived
imperfections serve to enhance the piece and make it more desirable.
So enjoy the kiln Shed! Come back often, as I have a lot of odds and ends
that I will be listing here, as well as some items from my vintage handmade
collection.

This is another real beauty with one minor flaw. There are six horses slip trailed in black over
white, on a blushing cream to peachy background. There is a surface crack on the outside as
shown in the first pic by the hooves, and the last close up. The crack does not go all the way
through.

This is a larger serving bowl. It has dogwood flowers painted by Paul, who is also
the maker of the pot. There is a small less than 1/8 inch bump on the inside of

is signed by Paul and stamped Morris Pottery.
