The fourth annual Sticks and Stones was a great success!!  Above is a picture of
the fireside music on Saturday night.  The weather couldn't have been better.  Over

"Sticks and Stones" is an Art event conceived by several area Artists in 2003.
We had originally done individual studio tours, and felt that we could have a
better event if we located in one place. That place has been the Hovland
Sawmill for the last four shows, and will be our 2008 location also.
Sixth Annual Sticks and Stones Festival
September 26, 27, 28   2008
We are planning another great show this year, and I will fill in the blanks as plans
progress.
While you wait , here are some pictures from  the 2007 event.
It's hard to believe this is the sixth year of S&S!  This event is evolving each year into
something special for all ages and levels  of participation.   The hands on aspect is
central to our theme, and The very popular Raku firings will return  with Latana at the
helm.  I am waiting to hear from last years potters to make sure they can return.  I have
calls out to several bands, including our own Mad Cow Band , and perennial favorites,
Rob Young, and Thea Ennen.
The big news is in the food department, and you are hearing it first here. We are
constructiing a wood oven in Kathy's yard.   There will be a new variety of foods baked
in the oven throughout the day.    Breads ,pizzas, roasts, turkeys!   We make an effort
to bring something new every year, and this certainly will be a creative way to enjoy
food, and participate in the process.

News !  We have booked Charlie Roth to perform at Sticks and Stones
this year! Charlie is from St. Cloud MN, and is no stranger to the area, as
his band The Taxmen played area clubs through the 80's.  Other bands
have been Cats Deluxe  and  Jack Tango.  Charlie is a prolific songwriter
and has several CD's  .  We are thrilled at this new development. Learn
